| I chose to name her Mazel Tov Hana Her My
Heart for one of the most terribly clichéd reasons, because the moment
I looked into Hana’s eyes I handed her my heart on a sliver platter. After
that moment, she snuggled up against me and we’ve been partners ever since.
Obedience, Agility, Rally-O and the therapy dog evaluation (we start classes
in the spring) are all experiences that have been new to us both. Together
we have done things I had only daydreamed of doing before. If you had told
me five years ago that I would be partners with a dog like Hana or that I
would go with her to Westminster, I’d have been sure you were teasing me.
She’s my first child and sister to my daughter; the world’s best listener
and bed warmer; and perhaps most magical of all, she is my very first dog.
