When we decided to add a 2nd Canaan Dog to our household we worried that the new addition would not measure up to our 1st Canaan Dog. Well little did we know that it was not only our Canaan Dog that was so special, but all the Canaan Dogs. On December 25, 2009 Cherrysh’s Joy to the World was born. We got “Joy” in February 2010 and our lives have not been same. She is the happiest dog I have ever had – she smiles, wags her tail and plays all the time. At home she enjoys patrolling our home / property, swimming in the pool, and going for long runs. Although she is 4.5 years old, she is still a puppy at heart. She is always trying to get you to play with her and tries all sorts of funny tricks to get your attention. Although Joy is not really big on going into the show ring, she does it to please me and she is rewarded after each and every show with some kind of hike or swim. Joy recently produced her first litter of puppies and has proven to be a wonderful mom. I have been told by many that dogs grow into their names and Joy fits her name perfectly – she brings Joy to everyone she meets.
