Of all my dogs, Rashit is perhaps the one who expressed most demonstratively her love for me. In the mornings, she was always in such a rush to get out that she would jump against the door to the yard to try to open it - often succeeding, until we started locking it. But if I was in my office downstairs and it was my wife who let her out of her crate, she would often run down first, greet me very briefly with barks and energetic tail wagging, and then run up again to the door. To my regret, she did not like too much formal obedience and rally work, so I did retire her after she got her CD and RE. But she was quite smart and produced a talented boy, Anak. Still, I am not sure how she learned on her own to herd me up from my office when the dinner bell tolled, by barking so loudly I had to stop whatever I was doing on the spot and follow her.. |
