Kol Tuv High Desert Fuligin Sullivan’s Khepri “ Sully” was born Aug. 2nd, 2017. We were graciously accepted by Carrie and Risa from Kol Tuv & High Desert Canaan Dogs, for a pup from the Tali and Forrest litter. Sully was littermate of Kira who sadly passed away and was mentioned in an earlier edition.
Sully’s early months were challenging,...allergies plagued him. If scratching wasn’t bad enough, he developed a limp in his front shoulder. Ari his littermate developed a similar limp and was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans. Sully had it too. Surgery was performed in July.
Summer was spent wearing a t-shirt to protect his shaved skin, and sunscreen for his hairless ears.
We never considered being able to show him in the fall but miracles happen.
The show in November found Sully curious, calm, and upbeat - handling the environment far better than dogs with many times his experience. A credit, both to his innate good temperament and continued socialization. His first show was a success. Not for the ribbons he won, but for the journey it took to get there.
