It all started a little over 10 years ago when we decided to get a Canaan Dog and found a breeder that was only 15 minutes from our house by the name of Cathi Oskow. When we went over to see our first Canaan Dog it was Mazel, a beautiful white and red male that we fell in love with and knew we had to have a Canaan. Cathi wasn't planning any litters, so she referred us to Cheryl Hennings. We got Jake, a beautiful black male from Cheryl. A year later, we got Gimmie, our lovely cream girl, from Katryna Bogovich.
At the 2010 specialty Donna Dodson showed up with this wonderful 3-month-old little white-and-red girl named Dazy. We immediately fell in love and asked Donna if she would sell Dazy to us. Donna said that she would talk it over with Roy once she got home. When she called us 2 weeks later, she said that Roy had also fallen in love with Dazy and they were going to keep her.
A year later, Donna called and gave us the bad news about Roy and asked if we wanted to co-own Dazy. Needless to say, we jumped at the opportunity. And low and behold, it turns out that Dazy is Mazel's granddaughter, what a small world! She has been such a blessing and holds a little piece of Roy inside. We are very blessed he did a great job raising Dazy who is now an AKC Grand Champion.
