“Della” was the 3rd of 4 girls in Ms. Maccabee’s 3rd and final litter. Her nickname came from her resemblance to the Gateway Computer boxes, but I didn’t want to call her “Gate” so settled on another computer maker: Dell! She and her uncle FarSight Nathan were affectionately referred to as Thing 1 and Thing 2 for all the trouble they’d get themselves into. Della has been a late bloomer in conformation: earning all 11 points, including 3 majors, after the age of 7. I hope to finish her AKC championship, from the bred-by class, in 2014. She spoiled me in Rally by earning her RN in 3 trials, RA in 4 trials (handler error!) and RE in 3 trials. Her Beginner Novice title came nearly as easily: in 5 trials. She was the 2nd Canaan Dog to earn the Barn Hunt Instinct title of RATI. We had hoped to continue our Kol Tuv line with Della puppies. Unfortunately she did not get pregnant the 3 times we tried to breed her; so she will have to be content raising her virtual babies. Della is now the full-time protectress of not only the land rights to her backyard, but the air space and mineral rights as well!
