When I look at Isha I see her sire Shiloh’s eyes. But her personality is all her own. She has decided that her role in life is to be a homebody and enjoy life.
She patrols our yard and keeps our property free of intruders. Deer, dogs, neighbors (in their own yards) get yelled at and warned - stay out. She even tries to climb the trees after the squirrels.
We can even tell by her Canaan-speak what type of intruder has dared enter “her” property. Isha is especially upset at visiting deer. Yelling, she bounds directly at them. Only the fence stops her. The irony - the deer are aware that they are safe because of the fence and ignore her.
In the house she has figured out how comfy the bed and couches are and uses them regularly.
Isha loves attention and will greet us enthusiastically every time we come inside. She is a delight to see after a long day at work. She knows that she is soft and cuddly, and with those beautiful eyes, how can we ignore her? She lays her head on our thighs, stares up at us asking for attention and permission to jump up on the couch next to us.
But Isha’s favorite spot is on David’s pillow. Yes, even when David is using it. And my husband not only willingly shares his pillow, he cuddles with her and talks to her. And Isha loves it!
When she was young I thought she would always be her namesake, Wild Woman. But our Wild Isha has been tamed, tamed by love.
