Meva was born in Israel, lived 3 years in Alabama, 3 years in Kansas, and recently spent a few months in Minnesota raising her final litter. I wonder what her accent would be like if she could speak! I am so lucky to have her. I wanted a mate for Flynn, but realized that my pick bitch was a) in Israel, b) 8 years old. Not going to happen, but I learned that Dennis Murphy had imported her daughter and needed to rehome a few dogs. I drove to Alabama to meet Meva and took her on a gamble. She wasn’t gorgeous, but Dennis still had pups at home from her first litter and they were quite nice and very outgoing. Within a few weeks after her arrival, Meva was completely reliable with my 7 cats. She proved to be DM clear, which was essential if she was to be bred to Flynn, and all her other health clearances were good. She had a lovely litter with Flynn and a final beautiful and colorful litter for Alla Geretz. She doesn’t like to show, although she will do it for me. But what is most remarkable are Meva’s adaptability, intelligence, steady temperament, affectionate nature, easy whelping, and amazing mothering skills. She has contributed an important legacy to the gene pool of the breed without ever winning a single point. |
