Over the six years that Gili and I have lived together, he has shown himself to be quite discerning about strangers, some of whom he takes to immediately, and others that cause him to stay away. I follow his example, since he is more sensitive than I! Also, he is my bug alert dog. We live in the mountains of Southern AZ, so centipedes and scorpions sometimes come visiting, but Gili always alerts me so I can deal with them. He watches carefully and when he relaxes, I know we are bug free. Since we live on a hill with no close neighbors, I also treasure his Canaan Dog guarding instincts—no one comes into our yard uninvited! Most of all, though, I love that he is affectionate and easy to live with, and always ready for a training session or a hike.
