Kali joined our family in December of 2018 and has been a real joy! When we first saw photos of Kali, we fell in love with the asymmetrical white marking on one side of her nose. She joined Holmes, our older Canaan Dog, and has brought out the “puppy” in him, playing and racing around together. Kali is very smart. One of the things Kali does that we love is when Bob put treats inside a red Kong. Kali knows exactly what to do to get the treats out by taking the small end in her mouth and turning the Kong over to let a treat fall out, and then repeating until she has gotten all the treats. Kali dotes on Bob, and knows how to get treats out of him. She gazes into his eyes, reaches out with her paw or gives him a sweet kiss, and she is well rewarded!
Kali goes out on daily walks with Cheryl, and there are certain dogs and their owners that she has adopted as her very best friends! She greets each by throwing her paws down in a play bow, wagging her tail like crazy, and jumping all around in pure delight. They love her too, and are always happy to see her.
Kali’s has what has become “her spot” and favorite place. This is the space on the bed on Cheryl’s side, leaning on the pillow and looking out the window where she can watch for squirrels, birds, and keep an eye on the neighbors. She only reluctantly gives up this space at night so Cheryl can go to sleep! Any time that Kali has done something she is not supposed to, she has this very sweet way of putting her ears down and wagging her tail really fast as if to say, oh don’t be mad at me, you know you love me! And of course she is right!
