Rumor started life on a farm with her breeder.
As many "farm kids" do, Rumor decided at eight weeks it was time to try out suburbia and raise a family. She moved in with Lindsey Anderson, a Miniature Pincher, and an Akita. Rumor often went to work with Lindsey, a vet tech.
Rumor worked hard to earn her championship and become a top 5 Canaan Dog.
Then it was motherhood time. What is more fun than a puppy? A puppy and a child together of course. Lindsey was blessed with a wonderful son and Rumor had one puppy who survived, Keeley. As you can imagine the house was full of fun, laughter and no TP was safe from attack.
Rumor then decided she wanted to be an "only child" in
her senior years, and was acquired by Barbara Redcay and myself. Rumor made two things very clear. First, Barb is the superior person. Second, she was not about to be put out
to pasture. She balanced her name with titles. Rumor has become a wonderful breed ambassador, doing many "Meet The Breeds" and is currently "mentoring" Naomi and her brother Vito in the UKC juniors' program. Rumor has brought joy to many and continues to contribute to the breed.
Rumor asked me to shamelessly plug Meet the Breeds in
NYC at the end of January. If you have a Canaan Dog
who can survive the multitudes of NYC (we are talking tens of thousands) or if you are going to be in NYC, we always need dogs and people. Remember it is up to all of us to
preserve this breed for future generations.
